Meet Blobby, the World’s Most Expensive Chair

That metal thing that looks like a blob is not a part of the next Men in Black movie. But it doesn’t have to be a part of MIB, or any movie for that matter, for it to glean attention and raise a few eyebrows here and there. And why wouldn’t it? This aluminum-cum-fiberglass chair is set to fetch anywhere between $1.6 million to $2.4 million at the auction at Christie’s next month in London–making it the world’s most expensive chair by far.
The pricey metal-blob chair is being sold as a part of a European couple’s collection. Dubbed as the “Lockheed Lounge”, the futuristic chaise was created by an Aussie designer Marc Newson. The Sun states that Newson “had this image of a fluid aluminium form”
We’re sure that there are a few who would certainly want to take possession of this rather impressive chair, but no doubt that a lot would still prefer to settle their backs against their comfy old couches. Comfort issues notwithstanding, the price of this very advanced gadget alone is enough to make anyone think twice. (CamZ)
